Depends which way you're travelling.
If coming up the beach from Noosa then Freshwater is OK.
If by road from Gympie then Inskip Pt.

I'd probably do Inskip anyway as then you can get the first barge across, but then agian, it all depends on the tide.

I'd be wary of the rocks at Rainbow after the current big seas. Probably better to go via Gympie.

Hi Evila, Totally agree with MrBitchi however, if the tides are favourable, the beach run up Teewah & Rainbow is great, but I'd still stop-over at Inskip to catch the first barge. The last 2 times we were up at Rainbow, the rocks were none-existant and we'll be back there next weekend. Have a good trip.

a spot sometimes overlooked at rainbow beach is a camp ground called carlos great camping on the water shop and good waterfront restaurant cabins avail if required...have a look...

Mudlow Rocks on the beach at the front of Rainbow Beach is a treacherous stretch of beach which without due care can endanger vehicles which pass. The "Rocks" have claimed many vehicles over the years. Here is the current toll which appears on the Rock Toll Board at the hotel.

Last report at dusk indicates that waves are running at 1.5m to 3m on the beaches Indian Heads to Hook Point. Some sections of beach have disappeared and there has already been some dune damge from the higher than normal tides. Tonight is expected to get worse as the low moves southwest towards the coast.

Hi Guys...

Thanks for the warning.... we don't plan to arrive to QLD until monday anyway(comming from Melbourne) , but have now delayed the cross to Fraser Island until the 13... hopefully in a week everithing should be back to normal...

In the overnight issue, it appears to be a matter of horses for courses...

With the people saying (take the first barge)... one thing that worries me, is that tides for the day that I get there are High at 7am and Low at 1pm.... How long after/before high/low tide is it recommended to take the barge?
