We are looking for someone to come and stay on our cattle station in return for some help (paid or work for keep/facilities etc). flexible. work includes child minding - odd jobs etc. opp 80 mile beach and 2hrs from broome. we thought caravaners would be ideal as we have no spare accomodation. love to hear from someone travelling near us. email is nitadowns@bigpond.com or i will check forum.

What a wonderful opportunity for someone ! I'm sure it's a two way street, and you should be inundated by travellers wanting the experience. Hopefully you'll find someone suitable.
The interesting thing is that on my map it has Nita Downs as "ruins". Obviously not :))

yes we thought it would be a great opportunity for both parties.
it is totally flexible too.
yes unfortunatley the map says "ruins". for a while no-one lived here as the person who owned it lived next door so that might why the map said that.

Isn't it funny how maps can be misleading ? I would have just assumed that the place was uninhabited. What a nice little looking spot :) I'm planning on being down the road a ways (80 mile beach) for a little while if I can get through the Kidson this year. What sort of rainfall have you had to your west and how bad are the tracks ?

Thanks, appreciate it. It's difficult to get an accurate impression from over in the East, I guess I should ring and find out before I go.
Good luck finding someone. They are a good bunch here :))

You make it sound as if they are walking a tightrope of safety. For goodness sake people: stop being so timid and cautious all the time - the world is not full of danger just "waiting to get yer!".

Mudness,

Are you suggesting that I don't know how to handle kids? Are you suggesting that I don't know how to weld a child to the floor! Are you intimating that a perfectly good, well made, wooden crate wouldn't hold the average child for at least a week without food!!
I can assure you, sirrah, that I've nailed more kids to barn doors than you've had hot dinners!!

Just joking,,,,,,
