Our club held the 4WD Qld Annual Corroboree this weekend, was a real hoot!! And I spotted a real live ExplorOz wheel cover!!!! So who was it? I kept an eye on the cap site, (without looking like a stalker!) but didn't see anyone there. It was on a GU Patrol.......

Where was the Corroboree?
I know someone in a purple GU that was up at Black Duck Valley this weekend just gone. If that helps.

Hi Trevor,
The corroboree was held at Canungra, it's the 4WD Qld association annual country meeting and a member club hosts it each year. This was our turn this year, the Mackay Land Rovers Club is hosting next year.

Cheers

I spotted it Sunday morning, I was playing "dustman" and doing a slow drive around the access tracks to pick up any rubbish, I must say that there wasn'tt much to pick up! I kept an eye out and would have said g'day but I don't think you were there at your camp.
Sunday afternoon the rain came and the band cancelled at the very last minute, but we still had a great night. I THINK it was a fellow from the Nissan club that won the fridge! He was thrilled!!!

Had to get back home for the grandson's first birthday party on the Monday morning. Had to go as passenger for the drives on Saturday and Sunday morning after some damage over Easter. When the drizzle started Sunday lunchtime I thought I'd pack quickly and get going while all my gear was still dry.

Looked at the backs of cars all weekend looking for stickers, but didn't see even one.

It was a good weekend all round.

I have two stickers.... one on each side of the truck on the rear quarter windows, when you drove through the creek, our site was the first on the left.... "Corroboree Waters Estate"... LOL..... also the Pretty Blue Hilux of Norm C was there as well....

The rain was pretty heavy in the afternoon/evening, made some of the tracks a bit greasy yesterday.....

Not in trouble anymore.

Spent Easter at Emu Creek with the club.

Had a bit of a misfortunate drive on the Sunday afternoon. Left about 3pm for what was going to be about a one hour drive with eight cars. Got back to camp at 11pm after leaving five cars behind for recovery the next day. Spent four hours the next day getting the cars out. Destroyed both side steps, dinted fuel tank, small split in other fuel tank, damage on two panels, 2 wheel flares, few other bits and pieces. The boss wasn't happy.

Andrew,
Thanks for the pics, is that a trip on the property or is it Ormeau? My guess is Ormeau.... Looks like a good trip! I only took a couple of pics, took some video of the skits Sat night. Was too busy doing other things, but had a great weekend all the same.

Cheers

Good guess.
Most of the photos were taken on an Ormeau run on the Saturday.
Took it real easy on the Sunday and went on the winery drive.

Glad you had a good weekend....everyone I spoke to really enjoyed themselves. Peter from the Mackay club that is organising next years corroboree stayed a few more days and came to our club meeting last Tuesday night. He and his wife are nice people.

We are already planning our convoy to the Mackay one.... :-))
