Rob,I also been running Goodrich on my previos cruiser i changed once to cooper they are a good tire,I fond them a bit noisier tha goodrich on a similar trhead pattern, now i run Goodrich Im very happy with the wearing

Rob, The Coopers range is well sorted and the reason why Joseph Baz found them a little noisier is due to a much deeper tread. You will pay more for them, but they last around twice the distance of a normal offroad tyres. For some trivia, I hear the Leyland Brothers use them extensively.

Gday Rob, had plenty of BFG on my own vehicle and the 4WD fleet @ wk comprised of cruisers, V8 F350s Patrols and HJ75s all on ATs and MTs. Had a good run but you must keep your tyres pressures round 40psi (min35) or sidewall cracks and belt separation will plague you - esp heavy HWY application - we ran our F350s with 65psi. Heard good reports for Coopers especially wear rates and toughness (ideal heavy duty application)but mate who put them on his Cherokee reckoned they had nowhere the grip or comfort of his Pirellis which stands to reason. Its a big ask to have a tyre that is strong hard and heavy in the sidewalls and tread and then expect it to handle. BFGs are the most popular probably because they are the best compromise. Just curious what mileage you are getting from BFGs? I have 265/75 R16 All Terrains on my Defender & theyve done 110,000kms, a significant amount of that on dirt, including hard gibber country around the Birdsville and Strzelecki tracks etc. They are the older model too. Apparently the new KOs have 3 ply side walls and we should expect even longer wear from them. Can Coopers match this????

Hi Craig, I averaged around 70,000 klms on my L\Cruiser wagon a 4.5 petrol and Pajero 3.5 Do even better on the deisels and they all work pretty hard. On a 2.4 Hilux they virtually lasted forever. This also was on the last model tyre which BTW also had 3 ply sidewalls. 110 ks is excellent You must be a very diciplined driver to control the wheelspin on that T\D Defender ;-) That gibber is hard country

I was advised by a local tyre dealer to use 265/75 R16 COOPER DISCOVERER STE radials as a replacement for the garbage original BRIDGESTONE DUELER HTs supplied on my new 98 NISSAN Wagon and was told at the time that they would give me the best value ( dollar per km ) of any of the range of tyres that he could supply as they were guaranteed for 80000km. After about 41000km I am now looking for replacement tyres as these have now almost reached the wear indicators. These tyres have been used mainly on bitumen roads with some gravel (about 85/15 ) with tyre-dealer recommended tyre pressures being used and balances and wheelaligns done at service intervals. There is no way that I would go near any of the COOPER tyre range after this experience. The only good thing to say about these tyres is that up until the present time I have not had any punctures.
