Do a search.........bloke in WA did a conversion a few months ago and was very happy with the result. He stuck the 6.5 into a GU which had a blown-up 2.8 motor in it before. There was a lot of interest in it.

They have a very good reputation here in WA. Could also try Robson Brothers in Belmont (I think) - they also have a very good name in the 4WD scene here.

the easiest thing to do would be just to ring them up, im currently looking at the same option & was quoted around 20 ish for it!

if u after the turbo the patrol needs a body lift of at least 1 intch to be able to fit the turbo on it, where as the land cruiser has more space in its engine bay & does not require the body lift!

Is the extra complexity of a turbo really what you want? You'll find the straight 6.5 has plenty enough grunt unless you want to compete and to hell with fuel consumption.
I have a Brunswick 6.2 under the bonnet of the troopie, lots of grunt to tow a large boat of about 3 ton aggregate. Convertion was done about 80,000km ago, still running fine.

Make sure your cooling system is up to scratch, my 16yo radiator finally has given up which saved me a lot of fuel as I had to stay under 80kmh from Shark Bay to Perth to keep the beast cool. No problems without a trailer though, it seems these cooling problems only show when the load increases and it always happens on a holiday :-(

Yep - Bilbo is back from the wilds of the W.A. Goldfeilds. Not a very profotable trip but in spite of a back injury and a few other distractions, it was great test for the Brunswick engine and myself - after a 4 years absence from the game.

Im kind of curious as to how they can charge $20000 + for a conversion when the donor engines are worth about $6500 on the market.
I converted my landcruiser from petrol to landcruiser diesel and there sure wasnt $14000 worth of labour.
I spoke to Brunswick diesels about 3 years ago and they quoted me $13000 inc engine. Seems to have gone up some since then.

3. Klaus - 6.5 centre mount , all or nothing.Kit comes with a larger radiator.
4. Adamj 1300 - I've spoken to them & they side mount the Tuurbo , then it can be
done without a lift kit.
5. Truckster- nothing wrong the 3ltr (175,000K ), too much money to spend.
6. Bilbo - Good to hear yours is going so well. I've ordered mine now & they start in 2 wks.
