As far as legality is concerned (my understanding)...the answer would be no, dry means dry whether its personal use or not...as far as practice is concerned...its taken at own risk.

I've smuggled my share of grog into speedway, races and other events, through many and various means (I enjoy the challenge lol)

I'm unaware of the penalties, but would assume checkpoints/searches would be minimal. As before, at own risk.
