Brian, I live in
Emerald and have travelled to
Salvator rosa twice and quite enjoyed it It can be easilly accessed from the tambo/
Springsure road. There is a shallow fresh water creek runing through the
camping area(which is usually deserted),no facilities, only a pit toilet. There is not a lot of driving to do in the park itself but you can walk for
miles following the creek. You can drive across the creek and travel into the park a bit further. It is really only worth a day trip so plan to spend more time at
carnarvon gorge,
Emerald and
longreach. If you would like to know anything else about
Emerald,
longreach etc let me know and i will try to fill you in, You should also consider the gemfields near
Emerald as well. I have live here for 15 years so know the area fairly well.
