Camerons Corner/Bollards Lagoon

Hi all,

Will be travelling up to the corner country during the school holidays, just trying to decide weather to camp at the Corner Store or Bollards Lagoon. We are travelling with a camper trailer so accommodation is not an issue. It is only an overnighter, but I was wondering if Bollards Lagoon offers anything for the tourist to see/do.

Thanks in advance.

I think you will find Bollards Lagoon is a homestead. I don't think they offer camping in the back yard. It is where you pay if you wish to use the Bore Track which partially is on their property.

Hi There,

Bollards Lagoon has some nice station dogs and is easy enough to pay the $10 for the Bore Track mudmap, but Camerons Corner has a pub and is geared for tourists. No decision needed, Camerons Corner.

Cheers

A friendly little pub / shop but unless they have improved the camping facilities this season at Cameron's Cnr, they provide very little. Some nice spots to camp in the Sturt National Park on the other side of the fence.

I'd camp at Fort Grey in the Sturt park. Good water, gas and shade.

Jezza, There is lots of good camping spots on the bore track and is my preferecnce. Depends if you want a quiet night out inthe bush or want company and the pub scene. We plan on being up that way on the weekend and will call into the store for at least a beer and look around.

Hi Jezza - Fort Grey without a doubt (was there 3 weeks ago).
Only 25 Klms from the Corner; Refill water; Near new toilets; Gas BBQ; Bins; tables; interesting walking tracks (some 15 mins; others 2 hrs); Very nice spot and well worth the stop.

Fort Grey is good but there are lots of places to get comfortable for the night as you drive through Sturt NP.

We had a great night, lots of stars, a good campfire and good company. It don't get better than that.

Also, when you call in at the store ask what the sign on the cash register means, and while you're at it ask how the $5 notes get stuck to the ceiling. If you do and you are prepared to laugh at yourself you will have a ball.
