Thanks for the response - you are quite right, it does get hot in there but my reasoning was that compressors get hot when they are working so keeping it hot wouldn't do it any harm. After all, most people mount their compressors under the bonnet and it gets pretty bloody hot there as well!

What sort of compressor have you had fitted and where did you manage to get it mounted? I have asked TJM to mount a
Big Red under the bonnet (at the same time as they were fitting the dual battery system) and they came back saying that they couldn't find enough room. I was surprised to say the least, but . . .
