I've known for years how to wash a caravan Axle. Does that have anything to do with whether I've found anything helpful on here? I have found useful information on this forum but I'm still perplexed by a post asking how to wash a caravan. I don't see a relationship between the two issues. Do you?

Cos any idiot can complain, but you need some semblance of nous to ask a question.

OR as the saying goes
THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS, ONLY STUPID ANSWERS! and you have proved it!

I concur not asking questions only leads to stupid (and sometimes costly $$$ mistakes). You can bet in a room full of people if someone asks a question seen by some to be stupid there will be many others sitting there wanting to know the answer to the same question but didn't have the guts to ask it. I am only a visitor and pay nothing so I appreciate the opportunity afforded me of being able to use it. It never ceases to amaze me when someone asks a seemingly innocent question to which they obviously don't know the answer, or perhaps they do but ask the question anyway to get some confirmation from others as we all like to do that the course of action they planned to take was the right way to go, that there is often a whole bunch of knockers ready to jump in first with unhelpful belittling comments which are usually unrelated to the question. Or only remotely related to the question (if you have a big enough imagination) At times one has to wade through a whole list of smart ar-e comments, sometimes having to go back to the original question to remember what it was, just to be able to decide whether to offer a comment that in some small way just might help the poor soul that asked the question. Having been taught that the strongest character is the one who if he has nothing constructive to say, says nothing, I guess we are seeing a sample of what some, hopefully not the average, person out there is really like. Sad eh?

Well, how do YOU do it.

Some of the modern paneling (or canvas tops) may be effected by harsh detergents.

Does detergent xyz effect the waterproofing on canvas awnings etc. ?

Will a high pressure water blaster damage light weight panels, paint, canvas, window seals or enter the van around windows and doors?

The questioner is asking if someone with practical experience has any do's and don'ts

I look forward to the answers with interest.

High pressure water blasters force dirt and grime further into joints and recesses where they assist in corrosion.
They also force dirt into rubber seals and make leaking more likely.

Ive tried water blasters on cars(once) and it wouldnt even move dust!

I wash everything with a soft kitchen broom and car shampoo.

Im not sure what is safe on canvas, maybe ask a canvas fabricator/supplier

Well not owing a caravan .............. I'm guessing car wash and one of those circle brushes (that rotate when water is turned on, think thye called the "swirl co") and attached to a hose and extender pole. Of course would not be doing that around Bris with the way the water is at the moment :).

As for the sides I would look at a soft broom with the car wash. Followed by a hose off.

Bugger the chamois (spelling) lol it can dry in the sun.
