Max,
That is an easy drive, and there are two possible campsites that I know of. You won't have any isues towing a trailer, or having room to set one up.
(1) Mt Ive Station traditionally has allowed
camping, and is really the only 'commercial' campspot en route. However, I understand that ownership has changed, & I am unable to confirm if they still offer caping sites. You may like to investigate that & let us knbow the result.
(2) There is a new PAR-Public Access Route- at the southern end of L. Gairdner. It has a good campsite, and a short hike to a hilltop for some beaut viws at dusk. this is a quiet spot wher you could easliy spend two relaxing nights.
Before you head east to Glendambo & the Stuart Highway, turn left at
Kingoonya and visit
Tarcoola, an old gold mining town. It is close to being a ghost town, and is a significant railway location.
The distances are not great, and when I was there 5 months ago, the (dirt) roads were in very good condition. So it all depends on your pace & itinerary. If pressed, you could camp one night & see
Tarcoola and get to the Staurt highway easily on the following day. But why rush?
Cheers
Rick
