Another 4X4 LPG Question

Hi all,
Have been reading some of the threads on LPG conversions in 4WD's. Was after an 'update' on the latest news regarding the converison.

I am looking at buying a Pajero or Prado, 2004-2006 model in the near future (6 months) and am tossing up between diesel or petrol with an LPG gas conversion.

Does anyone have these vehicles with the conversion and if so, what can you tell me? How much is it to convert? Are there really savings to be had? Is there any loss of power or torque from the vehicle? Any engine problems with running it on gas?

I know many people run gas in their cars, but just wanting a clarification on these questions. ANy help would be greatly appreciated.

There are is almost no diffrence in driving one on Petrol or LPG with
the injected system. The cost all up for conversion was $3800.

BTW The fuel usage is about 5-10% more than on petrol.
The full fuel tank on LPG takes about 70 liters and lasts for around 350-400km.
The cost of fill up is around $35 on LPG vs about $100+ for petrol.

I have a 100 series Landcruiser on LPG. It is reliable, goes like stink, has bucket loads of torque and is very cheap to run. When going bush, I use LPG to get me to the dirt (sometimes thousands of km's) and then run on ULP.

I have an Impco system and honestly, it is difficult to tell whether it is running on gas or petrol.

The main thing is to work out what you are really going to do with your vehicle.

I drive through the Blue Mountains to Lithgow every day and in winter the road can be icey or have snow on it. So I figure a 4WD or at least an AWD would be the pick. I also go to the snow each year so a 4WD is more convenient.

Also wouldn't mind doing some off road on the weekends, so would like to know if :PG affects vehicle power or torque.

Thanks for the help.

Had mine done in April 05 and it's now paid for. On a 4.5 100 series L/C the cost was $2300. Can't really tell the diff when driving but I use about 12/15% more on the gas.
Somebody asked about a Pajero last year and there were several replies saying it wasn't suitable for LPG.
