I had black widow central locking/alarm in my ex hilux, I found it pretty good,the only drama I had was it had motion senses fitted and on windy nights it used to make the alarm go off. It was just a matter of switching the senses off.It was the top of the line black widow that I had so it had all the senses fitted. shock, motion, window break, level senses.

I didn't fit it my self, I got a car stereo shop to fit it, for the cost of them to fit it, it was to much of a headache to do it my self.
I think I paid about $60 for them to fit it.

If I was you id get it with remote. easier then putting your key in the lock every time you want to unlock/lock it.

do they make a alarm without remotes?????????

Definitely a remote.

You'll have the baby in hand and three billion bits of luggage that go with the baby in the other. You don't want to stuff around with going to one door, put in the key, turn key, remove the key, go to the rear door, open the door, put in the baby.

We only had central locking and got a remote later for our sanity. It was a Rhino brand and it's not that good.

If you are going to fit it yourself, the biggest hassle will be getting the wiring to each door. You'll need to drill holes in the door and the mudguard and pillar, put in some tubing which will allow the wire to flex and not break or get pinched etc.

Hi there,

I put in a cheapy set from Strathfield.

I think the remote imobiliser is a Cyclops but the central locking was what ever they had.

The remote imobiliser was about $140 and the central locking was $34.

It's been going strong for a couple of years. Only problem I've had can't be blamed on the quality of the kit. A couple of central locking actuators failed after I drowned it in Toolangi.

Good news was another $34 for four actuators and a control box and I had two spare actuators and a control box for next time.

I wouldn't bother spending a bucket load on any system.
