If the likelihood of using it not very often then I can't see as how it would matter but if regular use is planned then I'd be going for the best available. Bear in mind that if you're pulling someone else out off the poo then you should use their strap anyways.

Hi Bud
I have to agree with Coops, you do get what you pay for. One member in the club had a cheap snatch strap, when being pullout the snatch tore at the stitching and did $2500 damage to the 80 series he was pulling out.

How did the not to cheap (or was it) snatch strap did that much damage?
How about a comparative test. Is there a standard test for these straps? Bill

I was given a then nameless grey strap about a year ago by TJM up here to test to destruction. It must have had over a hundred pulls on it by now, and heavy pulls, demonstating pulling a vehicle bogged to the axles in sand. It still performs faultlessly and no sign of wear. I believe TJM now market these as "just straps".

The strap that failed may have just been missed in QA. It was a Lion brand that let go

It would depend on what brand - if it is a "Just Straps" brand then it will be good - we have used their straps extensively and can vouch for their reliability and quality. I would say if the brand is not identifiable then steer clear. Just because it is cheap doesn't mean it is no good - could just be a 'sale' item

Bud,

Super Cheap actually have a mix of brands that they sell, and from different countries of manufacture.

If the one you are looking at is manufactured in Australia by a company called Spanset, then go for it. Spanset actually manufacture a lot of the big brand snatch straps. The strap will have a spanset label with rating and some other info sewn into it at one of the ends. I know that Super Cheap have this brand in their range.

If the one you are looking at is manufactured overseas, then stay away from it.

I think that the biggest problem with Super Cheap, is their name.
