Diff Breathers - GU Patrol

OK..before twenty people jump over me , yes I have looked at all in the Archive but!!!
*yes will extend the rear diff breather up into rear body panel
*BUT , do I really need to extend the front diff and gearbox breathers..they seem to be nicely tucked away up pretty high in engine bay.
And has anyone got ideas for securing long shovel and high lift jack to roof rack basket.

If you think they are happy with how high they are, then dont! Maybe one way filters off the top.

You can get a Spring Loaded Shovel Holders, you slide the head into the fitter, and then push the spring in, then the handle slides in. springs back locks it in.. Some place in Ferntree Gully sells them, I can find out of your more interested...

He plumbed them all to an airhorn compressor and when expecting deep water he turned on the compressor- mounted in the car- thus positive pressue and no chance of water ingress- beeutiful!!

Now thanks also David but sounds like positive pressure could lead to other troubles like popping seals

I don't think you could ever pop a seal as the volume of air it would pump would be VERY low, buckleys chance of overpressurising anything....IMHO

Just so you dont waste your time suggest you keep an eye on the breather pipes where they are joined at the base of the firewall. Have found the rubber pipes to become dislodged in timber country ie when picking up unwanted passengers(sticks).
When crossing deep water I always take the opportunity to check the plumbing while waiting for the transmission/diff to cool down before entering the water.
