Hi there.....
I had a Turbo-Glide systems kit fitted last Christmas. Worth the dough?????!
Expensive job, mine was a shade under $5K by the time my injectors were done and the unit set up properly, but goes like a rocket.
I wanted it predominantly for towing as our trailer is quite heavy (1020kgs tare) and it has made towing much easier.
As I understand it, the factory units are not as powerful as the ones, a few fellows I know have ditched the turbos from their GU's and fitted kits for more grunt.
I don't have an on it, am thinking of upgrading the radiator in the near future though, but mainly 'cos there is a drama with my existing radiator that may require it to be replaced anyway. My system spools up around 1800rpm and max boost is 11psi. I drive off the VDO pyrometer and usually use 550 degrees C as a maximum EGT. (I have been told I can safely go to 600 but prefer not to.)
The Turbo-Glide is (I think) a Garret turbo, is high mounted beside the engine on passengers side and runs a 2 1/2" exhaust as part of the kit. I was tempted to go 3" and if I ever replace the exhaust would definitely go 3".
Click here for their web page
I have NO affiliation with them, just a happy customer!!!
Hope this helps,
Cheers
Brian
