L/Cruiser GXL 100 Series

Both the drivers and front passengers windows have let go in the winding mechanism. It is apparently the plastic bases on the window bottoms. He has been told he has to buy the whole setup, glass and all. I think the quote was about $400.00 per side complete. Does anyone know if this is correct, or can he buy just the bits he needs?
Hope someone has an answer.
Thanks in anticipation.

I am assuming that the window has seperated from the rubber and rail ?

if so , just remove it and clean it all up. Put some black silicon in the channel and retap onto the glass , dont use the windows for a day and it will be like new again.

Problem is the actual channels let go, they don't sell the channel as a seperate spare part ;-)) If they aren't cracked completely they can be repaired with a good adhesive like Sikaflex but can be hard to do if there is nothing left of the channel to locate the glass correctly.
Same applies to the plastic door handles when they rip out of the door skins ;-)))

Try landcruisermart.com.au - they are in Brisbane but will post to anywhere. They have a couple of 100 series that they are wrecking so you might be able to get what you need a bit cheaper.

I can only comment on the price. That quote is about right. I just had the passenger window smashed by thieves on my 100 series cruiser and it cost $442 to get it fixed by Toyota.

Thanks for the answers, it does appear we may have to go the whole hog, but will follow up on the wrecking side of things.
