What a beauty . I have needed one of these for years as I often have trouble with the sun going and coming back fro WA on the Nullabor.
Also great for instant recognition of oncoming " fellow forumites ".
I have a query about legality though - does anyone know if they are legal in NSW ?
Cheers ,
Willie

G'day Willie
I fit a lot of the windscreen type stickers. As far as I can ascertain, the maximum depth is 100mm from the top of the glass. This is about equivalent to the tinted banding on most screens.

Intersting question about legality - had never thought it was an issue, provided the sticker did not obstruct your view. We have especially designed the sticker to fit exactly in the polarized section at the top of the windscreen and we recommend this is the best position for it. People also put them on the rear window, and it can be put on the side of a vehicle, boat, caravan etc. It fits most side doors of vehicle without needing to be cut. Please if anyone has any information about legality issues, let us know.

The clear part of the sticker measures 970 mm long x 70 mm high with only the white letters "p" and "l" using the full 70mm height. The other letters are less than 70mm.
Our sticker supplier also advises that there is no issue with windscreen stickers.

Gidday Michelle,
As an ex-windscreen bloke, the law in NSW used to be that if you were applying a tint film or sticker to your windscreen, that it had to be out of the swept arc of the windscreen wipers.
I'm not sure what the regs state now, and I doubt the police would enforce it anyway....

re legality in NSW
Several years ago I was stopped by an RBT team. After I blew into his little device and failed to raise the needle, the policeman asked me to turn down my sun visor. When I asked the obvious question he explained that if the band I had across the top of the windscreen had come down below the sunvisor it would be illegal. It was about 100mm (~4in) and was considered ok in my Pajero.
Mind you this was a mature friendly policeman who understood commonsense and was not just trying to revenue raise as unfortunately seems to be the rule many are forced to work to now.

How will affect the wiper blades??
I know on
mine they will hit the sticker possibly damaging the blades or the sticker.
Cheers Kev

I doubt it Kev - the blades will just slide over it. Had a windscreen sticker on our last 4wd and the wiper blades just slid over it no problem

Yeah,
I just remembered that I had, had no probs with the stickers on the windscreen in my old XD Falcon Ute.
It will still go on the windscreen regardless.

I may end up getting a couple more.
already have one for the Triton, on its way,
but I'll need
one for the X trail, and
One for the trailer.
Wonder if we can get them for the same bargain price?? ha ha ha

G'day Kev
The Blades will quite happily glide over the sticker without any hassles whatsoever, provided you clean the window sufficiently prior to installation.
One thing you need to make sure though is you don't allow your wiper blades to become old and brittle, otherwise they tend to act like little chisels and start lifting the edges of the letters.
Cheers
Brad

Thought about that when I ordered the one for the Triton, but thought that it would be unethical,
well kinda.
Be interested to know if we could get multiples though.
Cheers Kev

Does anyone actually have a decent close-up photo of this sticker on their vehicle's windscreen yet?
Just ordered

I was also hoping to see a decent picture first - but like you went ahead and ordered anyway.
The only thing that concerns me is that it appears to be printed onto a large clear sticker that is rectangular in shape, rather than the traditional vinyl cut letter. I hope the clear background doesn't detract from it. Anyway, grateful that they are free.

the clear part of the sticker you are talking about, peel it off once the lettering is on the windscreen.
Cheers
