BoB,
You could try an epoxy adhesive, as used for rear vision mirrors in leiu of the suction cup, but then, I suppose you don't want a permanent fixture.
I sit my Garmin on my dash mat with velcro on the underside of the Garmin. Sticks wonderfully to the dash mat and won't shake loose on the roughest of roads.

Use some silicon on the suction cup. It is easily removable but will not fall off.
No good if you want to take it on and off.

I have a Garmin Quest that has the suction mount and it too came off a few times but I just give a good lick and dribble and put it back, It might do this about every 2 months or so but joc45 does what I do, give it something to sit on and take the weight of the mount, It won't shake or move over the worst corrugation. see link

After cleaning glass and suction rubber, apply to a WARM screen with a small amount of water/moisture. Press firmly and leave without any weight for a couple of days. Works for me.

I gave up on the suction cup and made a footend for the Magellan from 16mm MDF. Cut out three exact bits from a template and glued them together. Then I velcroed the footing to the dashmat. Have since changed that as I now have a desktop for the laptop, handheld UHF's and GPS. Look outside the square :-D

Hi ZukScooterX90,

Just a thought, how about using a tiny smear of Vaseline or similar on the suction cup. This should help with maintaining the air seal thereby allowing the cup to keep its grip on the glass.

Cheers,

Ross
