Nicholas,
if your partner is breast-feeding it will be far easier. Formula just means a bit more messing around and being organised with a thermos of warm water for the day. Have some boiled/sterilised water in a bottle in case baby is just thirsty, not hungry.
If you are going to be hiking/walking to scenic sites, a backpack or sling arrangement is a must, for baby and yourselves. Personally, a sling carrying baby at your front would be best. You can keep an eye on "bubs", and probably provide some shade. As they get older, use a backpack.
Just take more time getting organised before the days activities and you will hardly notice any difference. Babies love being on the move.
If using disposable nappies have a bucket or container with a good sealing lid till you can dispose of them properly. Burying them just won't be deep enough if there are dingo's or dogs around. They take a long time to break down.
Several light layers of clothes to start the day, then peel them off as it gets warmer. Watch the sun coming in the windows as you travel. Nights in the desert are
cold, have a babies hooded sleeping bag or cuddle them in with you with a beanie.
Thats all that comes to mind, so go for it and have a great time.
