Just don't expect to go fast.

We usually go from Lake King through the Frank Hann NP, nice drive, can be a bit pot holed, but still not problem. We even came back in April through a downpour; muddy, but even slowing down and dodging the worst potholes, it was still a time saving for us.

We have also been through the Norseman to Hyden (new) road for variety - again a nice drive with a tourist trail marked, but you have to share it with the mining road trains - it is their road.

I was through there in October without towing anything. There were several 2WD's making their way along it quite happily.

I thought it was a bit rougher than the more northern route via Hyden to Norseman, and didn't find it terribly enjoyable travelling - but certainly doable - like is said here many times - if you drive to your setup and road conditions.

Part of the lack of enjoyment had nothing to do with the road, the scenery is pretty sparse.
