Hmmm..... A lot of stuff from China is good - we see it everyday in all of the shops - but there is still a lot of unreliable, poorly made crap of course - a few days back I bought one of those heavy, cast iron, multi-ring gas burners - the type that you sit a large metal bin on and
cook crabs etc. Three brass taps for burner control - cost $40 - not cheap in my view for something that didn't work from the off !! Had to pull one of the taps apart and free a complete blockage inside - and the screws that hold the tap assembly on were of such crap quality metal that the phillips head slots started to chew out on simply trying to pinch them up - replaced them with screws of my own - hopeless. What would a couple of decent screws cost ? And why not try the bloody burner out before packing it ? Seems that a lot of goods built in China BUT designed, owned and controlled by outsiders can be great (some famous name power tools etc) but lookout for the stuff that the Chinese design and own themselves. Lucky I could fix my burner - I'd be stonkered trying to fix a gennie but !
