Thanks everyone for your imput. I appreciate your advices.

The problem seems to have been solved. My computer is running again at normal speeds(for dial-up) and the infected file seems to be gone.

I restored the Computer System back to 23 December 2006 and that seems to have done the trick. Thanks to Glenn(Vic) via JohnR(Vic)'s phone for your suggestion. Good one mate. We old blokes are not so IT literate as you young 'uns...lol

Once again the ExplorOz network comes along to save the day.

Happy New Year to you all.

I am now going to play with the GQ (a far safer toy...lol)

Cheers

good that you got it sorted but make sure you scan for it again because a lot of viruses etc have a nasty habit of hiding a copy of themselves in system restore.

Ahhhhh Footy

Yes, my network has worked its magic again.....lol

Another year has bitten the dust and WE still have not caught up. Never mind the time will come.

Many thanks for the incessant diatribe ( all on good humour ) and the best of 2007 to you and yours.

Happy New Year

Take care

Cheers

Thanks, Willem, likewise. And in 2007, may all your problems have to do with finding a good tax minimization person.

Dunno so much about catching up. I've been told that you don't suffer fools easily, and when in a serious mood, neither do I. Sounds like a recipe for disaster LOL

I was told that some chokky or strange brew calms the savage breast.

They haven't found anything to cure me yet :)))

I'm actually a seriously reclusive extrovert after 10pm type...you know the ones...keyboard disease I think they call it.

Footy

I live in a Tax Free Zone

Yeah, well, maybe we should just skirt one another on the bypass....lol

Trying to give up chokky but strange brew is always welcome ( have some on order).

Maybe a dose of Valium might do you some good...lol

Lonely hearts disease?...Yes I know.......:-D
