Hi everybody i was hoping someone might be able to shed some light and may be some info on trouble i'm having with my windsor windup camper. When you wind it up to max height it drops about a inch or so,but if you leave the winder in it stays there(for how long who knows).Just wandering if anybody has run across these types of problems before.Any info would be great cheers ouch!

Ouch, it could be the cable on the winch drum. Very similar to a boat winch. As you wind it up, the cable is possibly winding unevenly on the drum, and when you get the roof almost fully up the cable is slipping off a high point on the drum, with the resultant drop in the roof. If you give it a couple of more turns after this happens and the roof goes fully up, then that's your answer.
Dunno whether Windsor have them, but my Coromal had 2 stays which should be placed under diagonally opposite corners for safety purposes. Theoretically, if your main winch cable were to break, the camper roof might come down part or all the way......

John R (NSW)thanks thats another idea for the think
tank which i'll check.I've never seen nor heard of those stays but will look into them. What i've noticed is that when you get to full height it seems to slip on the brake(i think its like a friction brake)but after that inch or so it's steady as a rock.Cheers
