Hello,

Can't help with a solution to the problem but we had a 100 series cruiser of a similar year model with the 4.5 petrol at work a few years ago and this vehilce had exactly the same problem, so hopefully it's common enough that someone will know the answer (of maybe toyota).

Sounds like a plug full of mud under the car.....On a similar note....a woman once brought her new 4.5 80 series back under warrenty to check the fuel gauge/ tank for leaks....tank wasnt leaking....gauge was ok too....untill driven....
