We have a Ray 14 ft Slide Out, bought new in Dec 2004 [our first van]. It has the front bunk beds, so is very good for taking grandkids with us on trips. Extras fitted are air conditioning, microwave, annexe sidewalls and double glazed windows, We also went for 100mm extra ground clearance. We are very satisfied with it, it tows well, and is user friendly when on site. We found the double bed foam mattress rather thin -this problem was cured by adding an egg-crate foam overlay from Clark Rubber. Another negative was water leaking into the front boot, this was rectified by the dealer.
From our home in
Perth, we have taken it as far as
Port Hedland, Karijini,
Kalgoorlie,
Esperance and
Albany, as well as closer destinations, almost entirely on bitumen or well-formed gravel roads. Highly recommended!
