Looking for a new set of rims and tyres for a 95 Pajero LWB

Hi,

First time poster, long time reader.

I need some advice.

I have a 1995 Pajero NJ LWB and I am looking to replace the stock 15 inch rims with 16 inch Sunraysia rims and new tyres. Most of my driving is off-road and sand, but nothing too radical. I am looking for a tyre which will perfome well in the bush. My driving ratio would be 80% dirt and 20% highway.
No lift and no mods at this time. It sits nice and high with no sag in the rear or the front.

I am looking for advice on the best rim size and tyre choice.

Everyone will tell you something different because tyre choice is a matter of opinion, like whats better toyota or nissan, so in saying that all i can offer is my experience, and you can chose from there. i would run, in your case BFG allterrain TA, 265/70/R16 or Copper ST in the same size. They are both the same price give or take, they are both tough and both perform well. Just a thought though, 15" tyres are cheaper, you may want to stay with 15" and run say the same tyres but in like a 31x10.5/r15?? good luck hope this helps!

Very good point re the 15" rims and the tyre price.
I have not had Cooper tyres before, but i hear they are very tough.
I had BFGoodrich on my old BJ-42 and they performed well.

I have a 1993 swb 2.8 TDI and run 31 x 10.5 x 15 GT Radials.

I use two sets on steel rims; Adventuro A/T's & Savero M/T's
Don't know if you have this brand available but I find the 31" A/T's are great for everything that does not need the more serious M/T's.
I agree with the idea of using 31's, easily replaced if required.

See if you can get 33's under your guards but.

I bought my NG with BFG A/T 31's on it. I can get away with the 33's.

considering no lift mods yet.
I may test fit a 31 and see how it goes .. or a 33 at the front to see if it may work
One tyre place told me that a 31 is the maximum I can fit.

hay Andrew....a mate has done away with stock rims .gone white sunraysia...has my old 32 maxxis muddys at the mo .great of road .but is going bfg .all terrain ..to renew.as muddys are a little noisie on road for his missus..see pic

Andrew.....there 15s.x 8...all we did was screw tortion bars up at the front for a little more clearance with no major outlay..50ml spacer blocks in rear.as its got a longrange,tank ....and all great no rubbing eather way ...great stance.ride height.and no more bellying problems...all in all hes very happy ..with minimal outlay
