From a glance it loks like a Pajero - front mudguards don't help.

So what are they gonna call it? Z-Trail??? ZZZZZ boring.

I may be a stick in the mud, but the GQ and GU were quite imposing tough looking vehicles. The GQ with its wide track and narrow body just highlighted the tough appearance.
With the "new" version as shown, it looks more like an X-Trail on Hormones. An exercise in style numbing the brain. Really looks like a city bus to me. Is this what the public really want?
At least it should have grunt though.

It's a bit like what Jeep have done to the Commander. Bit Poofy.

I am not really a Tojo fan (mainly 'cos everyones got one) but the Cruiser still looks the part even if a bit softer.

Think I'll keep second hand for a while. GQ or 80 Series for me I think.

Style is fleeting, but ugliness lasts 'til it's crushed.

Cheers Cam

go and sit on the side of a freeway for an hour.

Count the # of 4wds.. Count the # that appear to ever have left the tar...

4wds are not designed for offroading anymore, but family wagons, mums shopping trolley... Note all ads now talk about "ROAD GOING MANNERS"... not bleep in great truck in the bush.

The cruiser although not as disgusting at that new Jeep Cube on wheels, has as much design as latest GU..

I see your point Truckster, but as discussed, 99% of new 4 wheel drives will be used on the road 99% of the time. So it makes sense to balance them more for on-road than off. Have options to increase it's off-road capability also. I hope the Armada and the Titan do come out here with the rumored 4.5L V6 Navistar diesel (which makes a million times more sense than the V8 petrol to be honest). It's also about time these companies offered a non-parallel diesel-electric powertrain. Put that power through a tough 6 speed DSG transmission that Audi's and VW's have, and run it on bio-diesel and everyone can be happy.
