2007 Patrol Update

I just got an eNewsletter from Nissan.

Patrol gets Cruise Control across the board and common rail on the 3L. Power quoted at a modest increase of 118Kw, no mention of torque. Focus of the wording is on NVH and driveability improvements to the engine. Stock in dealers April.

auto = 118kw and 354nm

No changes in the power etc but they say that the down low issues have been sorted, below 1800rpm.....Time will only tell.....

You would think that if the ZD30 was such a pile of effluent as you seem to think it is that you would also have commented on the fact that Nissan now no longer offer the TD42 but you didn't. How quaint! The Nissan Corporation must have just a tiny bit of faith in the ZD30 to offer it as their ONLY diesel option in the Patrol as they have a fair bit a stake in doing that. No doubt there have been some earlier engines blow up prematurely due to wrong dipsticks, misaligned piston crown cooling sprays in the little end of the conrods, etc but the basic engine has been in production for 7 years now. How many of those that have blown up had after-market electronic chips fitted to vary the ECM settings beyond what the manufacturer intended, how many had the wrong grade of oil in them, how many had been overloaded, oveheated, run low on oil through negligence?? No I don't represent Nissan in any way, but you have to have a balanced view mate, embrace technology or you will be left behind, weigh up the benefits against the costs, it's time to move on. I'll bet you don't still have a black and white TV or cook you toast over the wood stove with a wire fork but then again with a handle like Now I'm Number One maybe you just might.

Well Sir it just so happens i have Embraced New Technoligy and do infact have the latest Mobile Phone.

So when the Tow Truck doe's turn up to tow the Blown Up 3 Liter Nissan away and if infact i do get left behind on the side of the road i can then phone the tow truck driver to come back and pick me up'now if that is not embraceing new technology my Question to you is What Is ?????????

Seeing as the problem with the 3.0 was fixed back in 2003, or was it as far back as 2002?, it seems that some people just want to hold a grudge. Thankfully Nissan have not added an independent front suspension, that would really stuff up a 4WD....
