Yes, that was a real eye-opener. Can you imagine what race marshals would say today if you turned up like that and wanted to race !

Isn't it strange that most of the cars that ' lost it' on the corner were rear engined...VW Beetle, Type 3 , Kharman Ghia, Porsche, Renault R8 Gordini (great car), and even a Hillman Imp.

I found it interesting to observe things like doors bursting open. One guy even gets thrown out, obviously no seat belts. Another thing to watch is all the bits of domestic rubbish that people had in their cars, it all gets thrown out when they crash. Wonder if any of those cars belonged to "daddy" ? If so someone have some expaining to do !

Hi

All independent rear ends and Porsche is the worst, when you excellerate the rear wheels spread out, but when you back off they do the opposite ( have a look at the upside down ones and the angle of the rear wheels ).

So if you are halfway through a corner and you back off the camber of the rear wheels change that dramaticly that it lifts the rear and throws it, a real surprise the first time it happens to you.

Have fun

It wasn't so much the rear engines or independent rear ends that caused problems but the swing axles.

I don't know why they don't use the same system as Alfa, it think it is called the De Dion and has dual control arms to keep the wheel straight.

Have fun
