You need to install a CE version of Oziexplorer and then the Natraster map of Australia. that will get you most places. Do a search on Ozie here and you will find heaps of info.

As Des has stated, you need something else for inland Australia.

Navigator and other similar products are only designed to give voice prompted turn by turn directions in the metropolitan areas of the major cities.

OziExplorer CE and NATMAP Raster (maps) is the most common and popular product for touring Australia.

I have an rx5765 and they are a good unit.

I have loaded OziExplorerCE and have Hema, Westpring and Natmaps on SD cards.

I have TomTom for the blacktop and Ozi for off road.

The help file is very good. I printed it out from a PC and put it in a folder to learn the program.

I have Oziexplorer on my laptop and was familiar with that so the transition was easy. You can also use Moving Map on oziexplorer using you Ipaq as a NMEA only GPS.

I have the same unit and use OziExplorer CE and the Natmap rasters. They are a good unit. You can also have both the tom tom software and Ozi CE running at the same time so if you leave Ozi on the screen the voice prompts from the tom tom will still come through.

I am told that the IPAQ can also be used as a CPS linked to a laptop to drive Ozi on the lap top. I haven't tried this yet.

Cheers

Pete
