Mn1,
Could always go for the cheap dodgy option.
Buy a 5stud split rim (78/79/105series) from with worn 750R16 tyre for next to nothing. Slip it under the rear as your "space saver" spare - so you no longer have a ground anchor slowing the vehicle down in sand. Put your real spare on a carrier or the roof, where you can actually get to it.
To the best of my knowledge, the 16inch rims will clear the brakes on the 100series. The offset will mean the skinny split sits out where your fat
tyres do, so its not an issue. The diameter of your 275/65R17 is 790mm - the same diameter as a worn 750R16.
The only other issue to consider with any other spare is whether the wheel nuts are OK.
Cheers
Phil
