Morning all,
Has anyone used a Garmin 7200 with Oziexplore maps?

If so how accurate is the track information.

Oziexplore maps would be as accurate as Oziexplore maps on a laptop or any other viewer, but it's got me beat how your gonna do it ...........
A very nice GPS, maybe the screen is just a little too large for 4x4s, depends on where you install it , at least with the Quest and Nuvi's etc they can be mounted up on the dash with the window suction mount and thus is easier to see while driving and , I guess if you have a vehicle with a steep sloping dash it could be mounted lower, I really think though that you better start thinking about T4A software ....BECAUSE......well you will find out.

Sorry I should have asked..... have you got it yet , because if not there is another unit in the Garmin range you might like and thats the GPS Map 276C , it is classed as the ultimate , with 3000 waypoint capacity , Track recording for over 4000klm , Routes, Sunrise/set, and if you were into fishing had a marine mapset then it has Tide Times and beacons, as for your choice of brand I will say your on the right track , don't deviate ,

If you look up the posts a bit you will see where I posted about the Tppo Maps, Tracks 4 Australia, Trouble is with Nuvi range you do not get the Mapsource CD but your choice of GPS is still a good one, T4A is a great map set, it comes with Contour lines but they take to much memory but you could just upload the area's you go with the whole country,To upload it you will need a Waypoint Manager or Mapsource, and istall T4A to the SD card, best to have a 2GB card , anyhow all the info is in the replies and answers on this post

You will need a copy of Trips and Waypoint manager first to install them.

The newer Version 3.1 has extra stuff for Tassie.

Garmin 7200 comes with city navigator software for streets etc.

Oxiexplorer is software to manipulate maps it is not a map by itself. Usually natmap raster maps are coupled up to Ozi explorer to give moving map etc.

I do not know if Ozi explorer can be run on the garmin 7200.

I believe garmin have Mapsend maps which cover topo maps but I have not used them or seen them.

It would be an excellent setup to have the 7200 with streets and raster maps if possible on the quality screen of the 7200. Price is high but it seems like quality as sunlight readable screen are expensive and it would be a single unit without the need for coupling to computers.

Interested to see developments

It is an extraordinary drive down the the freeway. Each time I drive this road (Caves to Caves) I wonder what I am going to meet coming up on those hair pin corners.
