I will be fitting an electric brake controller to my GU Patrol shortly. The unit will be used to control a 16ft or 4.9mtr Pop top Caravan with a loaded weight of 2 Metric tons.On a single axle. Would anyone out there have some advice on what unit to fit?
Thanks.

Hello Roger, I have had a Hayman Reece Electric Brake controller, same unit fitted to my last 2 4wd's, now about 6 years old, It's worked well, I chose that type because it is electronic and can be mounted at any angle etc. The Tekonsha's are an excellent unit but need to be fitted at the right angle correctly they work on a rolling ball [inertia] system and are bigger in size.

I use a Tekonsha unit. Worked well on the Magna but when I transferred it to the Gu it was a bit of a bugger. The angle it was fitted on was not quite right so I was constantly adjusting it. Otherwise, a good unit
