As mentioned above, its gazetted as closed - but the good oil (local knowledge) could be accessed by giving John Hammond a buzz at the Mungerannie pub/roadhouse..... re likely opening. etc. Some folks thought Walkers crossing might be closed for a long time, but its just opened again (different waterway I know, but).

Was there 21 July and crossing was fine. First 6 dunes west of the Rig Rd / K1 Line were very soft and about 5 m high.

Was there three weeks ago and didn't cross the Warburton as according to Dalhousie signs it was shut.Vks confirmed it was shut. This didn't seem to bother other members of the 4w drive fraternity though.
Roads arn't shut because you can't get through ,it is to stop fools cutting up the roads.

We received advice from SA Parks that it was open before we left and confirmed with Mungerannie Pub the day before just as a double check. Road was completely dry and we did not cut it up. A little water was still trickling across the main channel by there was a good stoney crossing . So in this case the problem seems to be a communication breakdown within SA Parks , not foolish members of the 4WD fraternity , dieseltojo.
