As for DVA the come close to the slowest Gov Department I know. The may now pull their fingers out now I have been confirmed as being discharged.

Kev, in a way it's unfortunate that you can work. I sympathise with the pain but after having been through the DVA mill I now have the absolute best of both worlds. A Gold Card along with a TPI pension is the way to go and unless you have investment properties or vast financial assests you could score a "service pension" as well that will give Mr's Kev a purple pension Card with all the associated benifits.
But if the Army are "dismissing" you because you can't perform your duties then I would think that a TPI would be on the cards.
My advice would be to get in contact with the Vietnam Vets @ Granville and ask what they can do for you, viv a vis making representations on your behalf. It's unwise to tackle DVA on your own.
One thing though is that DVA, once you have your "condition" recognised are far better to deal with than Centrelink.
How do I survive? Very well thanks due to the Gold Card, it's worth about $30,000 a year in benifits then of course I get the GST off vehicle purchases every 2 years...
I wish you all the best, just be careful of the Medical types in Qld, rumour has it that many have no Qual's....
Now if only we were female and could bear a child every 9 months......
