Have about the same mileage on mine to, but they never see anything but bitumen. Put the Cooper STs on for our last trip as they was quite a bit of mud driving, should have left the Hercules on by the sounds of this Signman. We paid $150 at Tyrepower for 245/70X16s. Have a similar set on the camper trailer as well.

We have the A/W tyres on our Rodeo, they spend 90% of their time off bitumen. Not sure of the mileage they have done but I can't wait till they wear out (if we have the rodeo that long). If there is mud on top of the track I find they wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding, same in wet paddocks. Unless you can ensure there is something hard or rocky to go down to through the mud on top I wouldn't otherwise bother.
For mostly road driving they would be fine, Indeed I have some used ones on my alloys to go back on the Patrol after the Pyrenees trip.
That said, I haven't tried their M/T tyres, they might be much better for this application......

Would endorse your comments about the A/W's. We have them on an 80 series.

After using BFG AT's for 200K clicks, went for the hercules @ about $180!!! After 10K kms, there is little apparent wear, except in the rear, which are starting to show signs of the stone on our roads....err, and maybe a little bit of speed too.

Liked the look of the M/T's too, and might even try them on our work ute later.

No punctures here either, and as you say, pressures hold consistently. Not sure of mud performance, but wife was not impressed recently, maybe it was the road surface on the detour, just out of Winton?
