Mitsubishi generally have an unwarranted poor reputation going back to the 80's, caused by a poor transmission in the first model Magna.
I have had three Mitsubishis and the have all, touch wood, been the most trouble free cars of the many I have owned. Did 350,000 in my 95 Magna without spending anything other than brakes,
tyres and timing belts, (and a fuse).
The best thing about the poor reputation, is you can pick up one, just a couple of years old, for the same price as 6 or 7 year competitor.
