Storage setup

Kevin

I am looking for information on setting up storage, including fridge rollout etc for the back of my Disco Series 11.
Recently met a guy who told me that info is available to purchase aluminium box section and strong roller gear (90cm throw) that will enable construction of light weight but stong storage unit for the 4WD.
Can anyone help with advice re purchase and/or design ideas?

the product is cubelock and is alloy section. There are two types one square and the other is square with a small lip. There a number of connectors rigat angle T 3 way right angle etc.

Most alloy specilist should have it and it is worth while shopping arround for price.

It is simply a matter of working out what you want and cut and make for rollers there have been several threads in this forum. Do a search. In those responses there are links to photos and places to ger gear.
Ours we assembled and then pop rivited one each joint.
Computer rack rollers work really well.

There are several people on this and dozens on other forums using Daves plans for rear storage now, its SOoooooo simple Im shocked that these places can still dare to charge $1000's for rear storage, its obscene....

Just a hint for your design. Keep your fridge at floor level. Most of the 'you beaut' units on the market are designed for the slide out to fit on top. If you or your missus are vertically impaired- the top mounted ones are a bitch. At floor level it's much more convenient. This goes for heavier slide out drawers (storage boxes) with your pantry & cooking gear.
Have a look around at a few units- and decide what is wrong with them before you proceed. I spent quite a bit of time thinking before i built mine- and on trips it works just fine for us- with no reservations.A bad days sailing sure beats a good day at work

Unfortunately, when I built mine I didn't think of that and now I am suffering (being vertically impaired). Difficult to reach the beer at the bootm of the fridge without climbing on the tailgate.Just Do It!
