Skimming rims

Dave Thomson

Hi All, anyone know where I'd take a pair of rims to have about 25 mm skimmed off them ? basically I've a Jayco Freedom which if I put on a pair of 13 inch rims it will go under the garage doors but I could do with a tad off them , 25 mm would make it walk through with ease, but who would do that ?
as usual all advice is much appreciated,
thanks,
Dave
BTW I'm in Rockingham WA.

An engineering place should be able to machine the lips off the rims.

A few minutes with a side grinder will have the job done. just make the rim secure so it does not take off when you start cutting. Piece of cake. Eric

Have a guy around here who has scrunched three rims like that in the past two weeks. He is looking for a job too Dave. He just drove around with the tyres flat. They aren't really round though.

You can purchase alloy wheels with tyres on smaller than the old Holden 13" rims with the ford / Holden stud pattern.

Or...what about a flat trolley with wheels like a shopping trolley? ie axle on frame. I have one made out of unistrut for moving the boat when off the trailer. Fantastic maneuverability!
