Mitsu Triton body swap ?

I have a 91 2.5l diesel Triton trayback which being turbocharged, performs a lot better than the deadly non t/c utes that Mitsubishi put out.
Not having sufficient cab space to carry tools with security has always been a problem. I've seen a 90's spacecab wellside but it's only 2WD and naturally aspirated so I'm wanting to know if it woud be possible to do a body swap. How difficult? Trying to buy a spacecab t/c diesel is proving difficult.
No, I'm not on drugs (well, only recreational ones)

Wigger, are you saying that u want to remove the tray from the 90 model 2WD & put it on a 91 model 4WD?

From memory i think (i may be wrong) the 2WD & 4WD mounting brackets are different, not sure how much different though.

Tks Brad , No harder than that. I want to transfer the spacecab and the wellside tray. I remember when i went looking at these utes in 1991 that you could only get this combination with a petrol motor so I passed it over. The spacecabs were all petrol also
so I can't just go out and buy what I want rather than shog around with other bodies.

The floor pan over the transfer case may be different, but the wiring loom will be a big job. If you are not good with electrical ccts you will be struggling, Good luck if you try. A dumb question ,why don't you have a locking tool box in the back?. Eric

You're right , electrics would be scarey and I'd have to get that done so could be stoopid spending big money on a $5k vehicle.
I use a toolbox at the moment but its stuff like your eats gear and camera that you always wish you had more space inside for, esp if two travelling. As I said to Brad, I wish I'd bought a spacecab originally but Rodeos and Hi luxs had such a big price premium loaded on that I baulked. I seem to remember Hi luxes being nearly 40k in 91 and they weren't even t/c'd.
