Prado 120 Lift Kit

Guys/Gals, About to upgrade my suspension on a new D4D Prado. Looking for feedback on whether the "standard" 50mm lift (above factory height) that most products deliver (TJM, ARB etc.)is enough to cope with a steel bullbar, dual batts (possibly a future winch) or is there a need to look for a heavier duty /custom set-up? Have looked at plenty of feedback on the kits but not a lot of info on the loads they are suitable for.

Miker.

I have a Mar 07 D4D Auto.

Had Bilsteins / Lovells / Polys installed, $2,100 all up installed.

Springs were mediums. I only have a Bar on the front, no dual battery & winch.

With all that weight at the front, I'd be going hravy springs.

However, driving around town, unladen, will be delivering a kidney punch to you everytime you go over speed hump, minor road imperfection.

Mine got lifted 50mm. Can go to 65mm.

The suspension upgrade has turned a great vehicle into an outstanding one. Feels a lot more solid and indestrucable.

Thanks Go Fishing. A couple of the chaps I spoke to advised there was options for the rear set-up ie. HD / medium but the front was one size fits all. Will keep hunting. Cheers.

Go Fishing is right
Also, if you went any higher you would also have to look into h/d sway bars etc to off set the cars balance. 50mm should do the job.
Cheers

Why don't you ask the people who sell or make the suspension......obviously you don't trust them!
