Mmmmm, that takes me back to my very early days. My grandfather bought one of the first model Holdens as our family car. Back then a trip to
Perth was in part along a road that a lot of modern 4wds wouldn't see. We always traveled with an axe and a spade and the driver often had to use them. The trip took many hours, often not seeing another car, with deep wheel ruts and an occasional fallen tree to clear. No seat belts, no radio, no air conditioner, no indicators (window wound down to signal). It always got us to our destination safely, and was the first of a series of many Holdens as my grandfather and father traded every few years.
