Dave's new pet.

Anja went to the Buffalo Farm in Kakadu today to see Dave and Patsy, Dave Lindner is known for catching Sweetheart the rogue crocodile in 1978.

Dave and Patsy are very close friends of ours.
Anyway, Patsy was off with family collecting bush tucker, so Anja was talking to Dave when he said "Have you seen our new "pet"?"

So over to a new pen in the yard... and low and behold there's the new "pet" a 3.5 meter croc, caught not 100 metres from their home in a billabong.

Hi Steve,

I received this in an email so don't know the truth of it but still impressive photo's nontheless.

The Alligator was supposed to be 23ft 1in and killed in the back yard of someone's Florida lake front home.

The gator was "not co-operating" so it had to be shot, sad end for what must have been a long lived gator.

Cheers, Trevor.

Hey Trevor.

That's a big Gator, It doesn't look like a trick photo.

A Croc has a species length of 5.2 meter's and a Gator of 4.2 meter's.

Tom Cole a Croc shooter up here in the 60 said he never shot a croc bigger than 6 meter's, I believe I have seen a Croc as big as 6.5/7 meter's, But a Gator that is 7 meter's would be a tall order.

Having said that assuming that, that person is 6 foot tall the gator would come close.

Cheers Steve.

Steve, I've read 3 of Tom Cole's books and they are a good read. Is he still alive?
It's not the years of your life that matters, it's the life in your years that count.

that is typical of the Yanks,,if it does not co-operate "shoot it" and I think it is absolutely disgraceful that a unique animal such as that is destroyed

Trust me it's not just a yank thing.

2 years ago I had a close call with a 4 metre Croc place with held, reason being is if I told parks they would go and shoot it.

The close call was between me a fish and a Croc.

Trev,

The hanging photo looks an obvious "trick" . The photos in the water look like he's about 14 foot given the 'probable' size of his snack.

The longest ever recorded appears to be just over 19 foot

Anja has spent most of the wet season with Patsy and her aunty, Driving them around collecting Pandanus and colour to make baskets for sale, Anja has also learnt how to make Traditional weaving not as Dave puts it, White fella mission way.

The new pen is where you pull up to pick up Patsy and the croc came from the dam you would have been to, the water from the dam got within 50 metres of the house, at one stage they had a Croc trap 30 metres from the house.

Anja is going to post a thread on here soon all about her time with Patsy and what the did, This thread will be for the Girls on the Forum.
