Nuvi 760

Just a quick question about whether or not you can load Shonky and T4A maps into the 760 as I am leaning towards buying this unit for the lager screen compared to the garmin gpsmap60csx.

Thanks in advance it is so difficult trying to choose unit with everything available at the moment.

Cheers

Hi Clint
No he hasn't used it on any tracks yet, so sorry I can't report on that.
I have both T4A and Shonky on my 660, and on my 60Cx.
Hope to get OzTopo one day.
Haven't done much track work since installing, but around the suburbs and outer metro, the roads come up similar to City Navigator (but without auto routing) on the 660, but show extra features such as old mines quarries etc. I use the 60Cx for walking, fishing and boating in the tinnie.
Regards
Neil

Yes you can add the Shonkymaps onto the main unit, it creates another file called gmapsupp.img the base map is called gmapbmap.img and the loaded City Nav Aust2008NT file is called gmapprom.img.

You will need to cut and paste the gmapsupp.img if you decide to remove it otherwise it stores it in the invisible trash folder .

Best to add them to the SD card just incase you make a mistake.

If you do want to try it copy and paste everything in the Garmin folder into a backup folder
