That gets you thru the stuff pretty quick.
All the tilleys ive restored/ and the ones I use, run on kero, not shellite, but ive seen a few indoor lights that run on shellite, and have a pump, simmilar to a bicycle pump to pressureise them.

Local supermarket used to have it for $2/ ltr, it was the rehochem brand, good stuff, burned well, and smelt ok too :).

These lanterns are great for using in the bathroom in winter, as they give a great light, warm the bathroom, and keep mould away ;)

Plus its great soaking in a bath reading a great book, enjoying a good wine, with the lantern hissing away gently in the corner keeping the place warm.

Well Trainslux, I find that Shellite is an all round all purpose cleaner. I douse an old piece of cotton towel or rag with a small amount and wipe the relevant object with it. The rag can be washed and used again. Do not use it on Wettex type sponges, as I think it might dissolve them.

No 1 use = wipe the stove/rangehood/wall tiles and surrounds with it after a greasy cook-up, then just a soapy cloth for sparkling clean. Also wipe the floor in front of stove.

No 2 use = grease/oil stains on clothing before washing.

No 3 use = pour on oil spills in garage after filter changes etc., soak up with newspaper or paper towel, oil and stain gone.

No 4 use = remove labels, stickers, glue off new items, walls or whatever the kids have messed up with the above. Removing old ,double sided tape used to drive me mad until I discovered Shellite.

Shellite is my first line of defense in the house and I wouldn't be without it.

I bought 4 x 1 litre bottles for $2.75 each in a supermarket recently.
