Re-released D22 with 2.5ltr TD

Hi All,

Just noticed that Navara have re-released the Navara D22, now fitted with a 2.5ltr T/Diesel. Are the sales of the D40 that slow? The power is down from 114kw (3.0l) to 98Kw (2.5)l. Doesn't really make sense. Why would you upgrade to one of these over the previous D22?? I guess the motor would now be Euro4 compliant and I guess more fuel efficient. I would have thought that inserting the hi-output 2.5l from the D40 would make more sense.

The factory producing the D40 are not making cab/chassis models. The motor is not the same as the D40, it uses a different block.

I wish Nissan would stop stuffing around with the farmer's D22, get fair dinkum with developing the D40 with Space Cab option and tray-backs and with perhaps a bit more development funding, it could become a serious alternative to the now lame duck 3 litre Patrol tray-back hand grenade!
