I have a 50lt WAECO, manufactured in 2004 and has worked a treat until I lent it out to a mate !!!!

When I got it back the button on the extreme right hand side that controls the temperature was not controlling the temp.

These buttons are those pressure pad type, like the top of a jar after it's been opened. If you try to adjust the temp the temp bar lights up and down and the "error" button comes on.

Anyone had similar problems, or know how to fix it ????

Does it do the same on mains and 12V ?

Could just be a loose plug ?

See if the panel is serviceable or contact Waeco.

Sometimes if you spill something over the buttons thay can stick down and the lights flash up and down. If that's what is happening peel back the cover and clean it up. It has happened to me a couple of times.

Why on gods earth would any one replace a good fridge with an overrated one.

Seriously Steve, has the fridge been allowed to defrost to room temp, say overnight without power connected????

If not try that first.
Good luck mate.

Stevie,
Interested to know the outcome of your call to Waeco .

I have a CF50 with the digital display and had it running on 12v (when motor running) and switched to 240v , after i turned engine off,and then the error light came on.
Took out the 12v lead and all OK

Phoned Waeco because it is supposed to automatically switch to 240, when the 240 plug is activated.
They said it takes about 3/4 minutes and the error light will swich off and the transfer from 12 to 240 will take place.

Pedro

My problem seems to be fixed (at the moment) and was all to do with the "pressure pad".

Rang Waeco who stated that I should peel back the sticky pad and check that the pad is connecting with the button underneath.

I took out the two screws (just inside lid) that fix on the control box, fiddle around with the three buttons that stick up, make sure your tongue sticking right out because I replaced my control box and it's all systems go !!!!!

I don't really know what the problem was but it seems to be rectified, and I think it was just a dud connection where as yours seems to be more serious (if thats the right word).

When I rang Waeco I spoke to a female who was very helpful and definitely knew what she was talking about !!!

Hope this helps

Stevie

Thanks for that Stevie . I was just interested to see if your problem was sorted by Waeco.

Mine turns out to be the way the fridge works when switching from 12 to 240 , so i never really had a problem,

Have always found Waeco support to be excellent
