Only managed to get one crappy SBS station. I also noticed they gave me no instructions in the manual on how to use it!
Can you pick up all free to air stations? Like 2,7,9,10 etc?

Bought the tuner on Ebay...yes it is an Asus laptop ,( but that is irrellavent ) and anyway it is a good machine.... the tuner is or will be hooked to the Explorer C10 antenna when we go away , I have tested it and it picks up all and every channel that is available in my area in digital and analogue....the dealer that I bought the laptop from gave me a tuner with it but it is not as good as the one I bought...only has digital on it ....the tv antenna is the critical area.....when the laptop is hooked up to my house antenna I get lousy reception ..but...put the other ( the C10 ) on it and it is a completley different story...picks up everything..and yes I also have the Happy Wanderer ...been using it when travelling for years because it is so compact and have usually got a good reception with it...but ..the C10 s...s on it .....cheers

Appreciate the input. The reason I ask the question, was I bought a Asus laptop that has a TV tuner - devoid of any instructons/specs on it's capability. It appears that it'll only find the odd digital station, when I'd like to get "normal" free-to-air stuff like 2,7,9,&10. From what I'm gathering, I need a tuner that receives analouge and a decent antenna such as you guys have suggested. I'm assuming such a device would connect via a USB port (presumably) and have decent antenna coupled to it.
Bruce: what sort of tuner did you buy from ebay?
Given both of you suggest what you have bought, I can assume you are bioth happy with your setups? I dont mind spending a reasonable amount - so long as it works. Best I do some googling!

this is the link for the tuner that I have...if the link does not work just type it into the search box on Ebay and it will come up ....I did not use the "buy it now" I kept bidding and managed to get a low price.....it is not the tuner that finds the stations ..it is your antenna , if the antenna is not very good then it will not pick up many channels....you must have a good antenna..... cheers
