Hey Truckster,at lest you got guages, all I've got in the gu are idiot lights. When they come on,its usually to late. I'll have to get myself some proper guages one day.

Gunnie,
Same, same as long as the gauge moves I'm happy I've given up worrying about where it actually sits, I know the engines good. Ranges between a smidgen over 1 ish to 4 doesn't matter what time of the day it is or what I've been doing, Truckster has the best idea puttig new gauges in, I'm a bit short on real estate at present. Keep the shiny side up

I have had good VDO gauges (full swing oil and oil temp) for about two months now in my GQ TD42.
When hot, oil pressure ranges from 130kpa at idle to about 380kpa at revs. This often bears no resemblance to what my factory gauge says! (It's still fitted.)
Specs say 294- 394kpa at 3000RPM

When I bought the G60 the Oil Pressure Guage showed about 1/4. After I rebuilt the engine it didn't show much difference. Then it dropped down into the red. I tried to replace the sender unit but couldn't get it to budge. I figured that it was the sender anyway as I have had no trouble in the 70,000km since the rebuild. So in the end I disconnected the lead and I don't worry about the oil pressure. Too easy!Cheers, Willem

Hey Gunnie,

unforntunately i have the DX which means no gauge, light only.

Installed a pressure gauge last weekend as had my doubts about the light, it seems that when at idle (warm) gauge sits on 20psi and around 50psi when running. Not sure what the conversion is to kg. I was astonished to find that the light turns off after started when the new gauge gets to about 5psi, light is set to low presssure, real low.

This probably doesnot help much but would recommend that get extra gauge for piece of mind plus its another extra gismo to keep you occupied on long drives. My was only $50 and took 1 hour to install.
